Quality assurance of the work
Sweden’s chimney sweeps have long inspected fireplaces and chimneys; it is a large and natural part of the trade. To better meet the demands of customers and society, the Swedish Chimney Sweep Masters’ Association (SSR) has developed the industry standard SSR Approved Inspection.
The standard has several purposes. First and foremost it assures the quality of the work: sweeps should assess alike, inspect alike and report alike. Many things can cause a fire — but whatever the sweep can prevent, should be prevented.
- SSR Approved Inspection may only be carried out by companies that are members of the Swedish Chimney Sweep Masters’ Association.
- Only trained chimney sweep technicians who have completed the SSR Approved Inspection training may carry out inspections under the standard.
