Booking

Book or rebook sweeping and fire safety inspection

We fully understand that a booked time sometimes doesn’t suit. Sweeping and fire safety inspections are planned route by route, one property after the next, and our rates are set on the assumption that the work is done in the same area on the same day.

Rebooking two days before the notified visit is appreciated and free of charge. If you want a completely different time from when we are in your area, that is of course fine, but a fee may apply if we have to make the trip just to sweep or inspect your house.

Fees for changing a scheduled visit

A fee may be charged if the property owner has asked to change how or when a visit is carried out in a way that causes extra work or costs. If a booked and notified visit is changed or cancelled by the property owner — or the person with the right of use — later than 12 noon two working days before the visit, a rescheduling fee is charged.

Good to know

Haven’t used your fireplace since the last sweep?

If you have not used your fireplace since it was last swept, you may not need to have it swept. You must contact us yourself and tell us it has not been used — it will then be marked as not in use. If you do not want it fire safety inspected, it is taken out of use and automatically becomes subject to a prohibition of use.

If you want to start using it again in the future, you are responsible for making sure the fireplace is safe and does not pose a fire risk. You must then contact us at Skrået (Hedemora municipality) or Räddningstjänsten Dala-Mitt (Säter municipality) for an approved fire safety inspection before you use it.

More questions and answers

Before the visit

This makes the sweep’s job easier

  • Keep the fireplace cold for a day before the visit.
  • Make sure the roof ladder is accessible and free of snow and ice.
  • Unlock the boiler room, storage rooms and the garden gate.
  • Move loose objects away from hatches and soot doors.
  • Time doesn’t suit? Call us and we’ll rebook — better that than a wasted trip.

Chimney fire

Call 112

If you suspect a chimney fire: close hatches and dampers, call 112 and keep an eye on the chimney — including in the attic and where the flue passes through floors. Do not use the fireplace again until it has been inspected.

After a chimney fire the chimney must always be inspected before it is used again. Contact us and we will book the inspection.
